Sunday Night Chit-Chat and No (low) spend Day 15 Recap!

January 15, 2012 ~Carla~

Before I start… I made a new header for my Sunday night chit-chat! This is a ship called the Enterprise that my grandpa spent many, many hours building. He passed away a couple years ago on January.9th, so I thought i’d show off his beautiful ship for the rest of the month with our Sunday night chit-chats! Please feel free to grab my photo and use it on your blog if you like! If you prefer to post your own photo, that’s great too! Anything goes! ;)

What are you…

Reading?

I have 2 books here waiting to be read, but need to complete one for a review on my blog, and I have “The Virgin Cure” still sitting here waiting to be read. With my kitchen/basement disaster and Mya’s hair “issue”, i’ve had NO time to read this week. :(

Watching?

Absolutely nothing lately… we have movies sitting here waiting to be watched, but haven’t felt like it lately. Next on my “to watch” list though is The Kings Speech. Still really want to see it… just need to sit down & watch!

Listening to?

My favourite this week is “Crazy Girl” by Eli Young Band.. lovin’ it! :)

Cooking/Baking?

2 loaves of bread today… Tonight, banana muffins! :)

Happy you accomplished this week?

Edited all the photos from my last photo shoot! They had to wait for my new laptop to arrive & for me to set up Photoshop, etc… but it’s DONE!!!

Looking forward to next week?

Hmmm… I really don’t have any plans so far! I think i’d like to take my girls to the movies soon though. The girls received G.C’s for Christmas, so the show would be *gratis*! ;)

Thankful for today?

My awesome BFF who gave me some rockin’ coupons so I could get 4 free bottles of POM juice today at the grocery store! I also had my own coupon for $2.50 off a box of Rice Krispies… they were on for $2.00, so got them free too!

Now onto my recap for Day 15 of my no (low) spend challenge!

It was definitely a spendy day, but i’m still under budget, we have LOTS of food in the house and i’m hoping to get in 3-4 no-spends this week!!

Spending today:

Loblaws: $14.48 (food)
No Frills: $49.59 (food)
No Frills: $7.33 (OTC pills for hubby)

Closing Balance for today is: $84.18, but I threw the $4.00 in my “Sealed Pot” and gave the 18 pennies to Morgan for her ‘Brown Bear” (which is sooo cute! I’ll have to share a photo sometime). So my new closing balance is $80.00. Tomorrows opening balance will be $101.00 and hopefully a ‘no-spend’! I’ve had 7 no-spend days so far, so that’s close to a 50% average! Not bad!

Ok, it’s your turn! Tell me about your weekend and how you’re doing at your no (low) spend month! And please link me up and post in the comments so I can visit you! :)

Sorry that your Grandpa is not around anymore; I bet you miss him. I zoomed in and I see that the ship was built in Maryland. My ancestors came from England to Maryland and settled on the water (Tilghman Island.) Wouldn’t it be amazing of one of them had something to do with that ship?

Uggh… my comment disappeared. I was saying that I’m sorry your grandpa is gone and I bet you miss him. Some of my ancestors, the Tilghmans, settled in Maryland – wouldn’t it be amazing if they had something to do with that ship? (I zoomed in to see the intricate detail and the year and the name of the ship.) Hey, I wonder if you got some of your skills of crafstmanship from your grandpa?

I posted up my quick nightly update and linked.

Nice Sunday night around these parts…just made black bean enchiladas and they were delicious. Just hanging out and thankful that I have the day off tomorrow, it is Martin Luther King, Jr bday observation.
I am thrilled that I still have money left from my low-spend weeks. I get to fill up the wallet again on Friday.

  9. MMm… banana muffins! You are doing great with your no/low spend month! :)

  12. Cindy says:

Great end & start to the week behind & week ahead, Carla on all accounts. Hoping to gather up all the receipts since the first of the month and sit down to do a tally today, to see what was spent while I was “out of it”. Hopefully I won’t be too shocked on what has been spent so far to date this month.
